New submission from Emily
On Saturday evening at 7pm I was crossing the road with my boyfriend, and one guy leaned out of his car to yell ‘That’s a fit bird you’ve got, mate! I’d fuck that hard!’ He and his friends drove off pissing themselves laughing, and I felt a) furious at their fucking RUDENESS and the dehumanising way they referred to me as ‘that’ b) a bit sick at the implied threat of sexual violence c) really guilty and humiliated. My boyfriend is awesome and feminist and said all the right things, but I was really pissed off.
I wish I’d got their licence plate but they were out of sight before I reacted.
It’s funny how harassment feels like it comes in waves – I’ve had none for weeks and in the last fortnight have experienced days where I was harassed two or three times!
