New submission from Opal
This incident occurred last year.
I was taking the bus to work in the middle of the day, sitting at the back where the seats are in a U shape so I had a gentleman looking at pictures on his camera facing me and a young woman to my right.
I was note taking throughout the journey so not paying attention to my surroundings. I noticed the man across from me looked a little shady, but I thought ‘who am I to judge’?
When I got off the bus the girl who sat to my right approached me.
She told me that the man across from me had repeatedly pretended to yawn and stretch to disguise his attempts to point the camera to film up my dress/legs. In addition, she said whenever I shifted position/crossed and uncrossed my legs he appeared to zoom in.
I thanked the girl for telling me but left feeling disgusted at this man and ashamed because he had footage of my body, and there was nothing I could do about it.

Hi Opal, I’m sorry to hear of your experience, that is terrible. You might want to read this. http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2012/sep/22/creepshots-revenge-porn-paparazzi-women
Ugh, this is a huge problem in the New York area. The article in the Guardian is right-on about this. Women & girls around here have to always be mindful of these creeps following them on escalators. Someday, some sassy sister is going to kick a man’s ass over this, and I will laugh.
