I am a small woman in my 50s. Walking along the pavement with my shopping bags I approached a group of about 10 schoolkids aged around 11. I had a feeling that they were not going to let me pass so, having experienced this in the past and had to stand aside until they had gone, kept on going slowly and kept my elbows stuck out a bit. There was some contact and some complaints as those nearest got a bit of elbow. Was I aggressive? I don’t think so. My take is that any group should at least allow passageway for an individual. My old-fashioned side would like kids to allow an adult through, but I guess this no longer applies.
I ticked the ‘other’ box because I wonder if I am starting to encounter agism. Or am I just paranoid?
