Thanks so much for wanting to Hollaback! Before you begin, let’s make this clear: we know (and share) your anger. Sexism and misogyny is rife in London and by telling your story you’ll be helping to do something about that. However, it’s crucial we don’t replace sexism with racism or classism or other forms of stereotyping, so please think about that before you post.
Replacing sexism with racism is not a proper holla back. Ditto to classism, homophobia, transphobia, and the usage of any other identity signifier. In our experience, street harassment comes from people in every facet of our cultures and every strata of society. We ask that you refrain from referencing the racial attributes of your harasser because this movement is about changing societal values, not pointing fingers. If you feel those details are important to your story, please make sure its relevance is explained clearly and constructively in your post.
The address format should be something that Googlemaps can recognise, so we can tell the world about what happened with pinpoint accuracy – so please make sure your location includes ‘London, United Kingdom’ at the end.
