Call Out for our creative action
This month at Hollaback London we are launching a big August call out for stories to be used as part of an exciting Creative Direct Action in public space.
the creative direct action project
A Selection of the stories shared with us throughout this month will be used in our upcoming Creative Direct Action Project. Working alongside a team of wonderful artists from a range of ages, experiences and backgrounds, we will transform your words into art. These pieces will then be publicly “exhibited” throughout November’s 2017 16 days to End Violence Against Women and Girls in creative and noticeable ways.
Our website holds so many of your powerful stories, but we feel it is too easy for those who don’t visit it to overlook what is really happening. By bringing your stories into public spaces where harassments happen we hope to close this gap
We are planning on selecting a range of experiences that show a broad cross-section of the reality of harassment in London – focusing particularly on the experiences of those who are often the most marginalised, including BME, LGBT and non binary voices.
We hope that this project will raise awareness regarding the realities of what residing in public spaces is really like for women, girls and non-binary people from all backgrounds and experiences. In this current climate of heightened sexism, racism, and homophobia, harassment continues to be normalised.
We want we reclaim public spaces using the reality of your experiences. Join us!
